1. COURSE OBJECTIVES

This course is designed to provide students with a conceptual framework necessary for analyzing and comprehending the current problems of commercial bank operations as well as examining various aspects of managing a commercial bank. 

This course will examine how the changing commercial banking environment has affected profitability and evaluate bank business strategies. It also helps the student obtain a thorough understanding of the principles and theory of banking institution management including financial performance of banks, asset/liability management, capital adequacy of banks, management of the capital structure, bank earnings, the loan function, the management of liquidity reserves, the management of interest rate risk, credit risk, investments for income, and sources of funds.
