1.COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Lean Course offers a practical introduction to lean management principles and techniques. The course is tailored to help student implement lean manufacturing in business environment to improve productivity, business resilience, and to reduce waste. In particular, the course:

  1. Offers an overview of lean manufacturing techniques and initial advice on how to implement them in a business context.

  2. Offers enough knowledge on lean management such that managers can make fully informed decisions about whether or not to adopt lean management, what lean techniques or tools are relevant to their particular environments, and the additional steps that might be necessary to implement lean management in their specific environment.

  3. Presents a set of core lean management principles, tools, and techniques that are relevant to most manufacturing and service business models. The students, however, may note that some principles are more relevant to their particular form of business than others.

- Content: issues have been studied.

- Students are not allowed to use any material during the exam.

*Group work

- Content: Students will form groups around 7 to 9 members and the groups are assigned a case study and/or a topic related to an organization. The specific cases and topics will be informed specifically at the beginning of the course. 

*Written Exam:

For multiple-choice and filling in the blank questions: 

Provide clear and reasonable answers


*Group work:

+ Clear and feasible topics (2 points)

+ Logical analysis, straight to the point, practical refection (5 points)

+ Use of variety of references, vivid examples (1 point)

- Exam format: written exam in 60 minutes

- Content: issues have been studied

- The written exam consists of both multiple-choice questions covering all chapters and essay questions which require the application of knowledge in practice.

- Students are not allowed to use any material during the exam.

+ For essay questions: Concise answers to 2 essay questions (4 points)

+ For multiple-choice questions: Correct answers to multiple choice questions (6 points)
