1. COURSE OBJECTIVES:

This  module  provides  students  with  an  understanding  of  the  principles  and  practices  of international  trade  finance that can be  applied  in  business operations. The  module  focuses  upon  the  additional  risks  that  need  to  be  taken  into consideration  by  enterprises when  trading  internationally  and  by  financial  institutions (banks...)  when providing  payment  services  and  finance (methods of trading and settlement, performance bonds, guarantees and financing...),  together with  the  methods  that  can  be  used  to mitigate or reduce the potential impact of these risks as well as provides solutions financing in enterprise-facing situations in international business.

Mid-term exam:

- Exam format: written exam in 35 minutes

- Content: issues have been studied

- The written exam can be in the form of 25 multiple-choice questions or essay questions with short answer or analysis case-studies 

           * Mid-term test of 25 MCT question:  Clear answer, correct answer for each question:   4 points

Total: 100 points

           * Essay questions with short answer or analysis case-studies of 5 questions.

Critarial for one question;

          + Clear, reasonable answer 10 points

          + Logical, deep analysis, with facts 10 points

           Total 20 points    

- Students are not allowed to use any material during the exam.

Group assignment 

Students will be asked to form groups of 5. Assessment will  be  based  upon the submission  of  one  assignment of 5000 words and presentation at  the  end  of  the  course but  prior  to  the final examination.  The assignment  may  take  the  form  of  case  study  or  questions  based  on  stimulus  material,  which will relate to issues and topics contained within the module syllabus. 

+ Presentation: 50 points (good presentation: 30 points and answer  the examiner’s questions: 20 point) 

+ Assignment: 50 point  (including: Determine the issue clearly, reasonably 20 points

Analyze and evaluate scenarios  10 point and  Clear language, cited, using the reference material 20 point)

Format exam:The final exam can be a multiple-choice exam and/or Essay, exercise, case study.

- Exam time: up to 90 minutes

- Content: Topic of the module  

- Evaluation criteria for the exam include essay and multiple choice questions:

+ Clear and insightful answers to essay questions: 4 points

+ Clearly and accurately answer multiple-choice questions: 6 points

- The evaluation criteria for the exam include only multiple-choice questions:

+ Clearly and correctly answer multiple-choice questions: 10 points
