1. COURSE OBJECTIVES
This course which is highly practical requires students to work in an international organization or business for 15 weeks. The module helps students apply the general knowledge they have learned in the Business and Economics major to solve some specific problems of an organization/ enterprise that are operating internationally, or to deliver a research problem that is related to international economics and business. The aim is for the planning and implementation of policies or supporting the operation of many businesses operating internationally. After 15 weeks, students must complete the graduation report related to the internship and will defend the report with the participation of the lecturers of Foreign Trade University and the instructors at the internship company/ organization.
2. COURSE CONTENT
The course is designed for 15 weeks of internship and report writing. Specifically, the number of hours students actually work at company/ organization is as follows:
- 400 hours for students who choose topics to solve some real problems in businesses or organizations;
- 200 hours for students who choose to do research on an issue related to international economics and business for policy making and implementation or to support the operation of several businesses and organizations operate internationally.
School of Economics and International Business will appoint instructor(s) to guide and evaluate students according to regulations. Students are responsible for closely contacting and complying with the instructions of their instructors to perform the following tasks during the 15-week internship:
- Choose an internship suitable for the major of International Business and Economics;
- Develop a work plan for 15 weeks of internship and write a report;
- Select the problem to research or solve that is related to the internship unit and suitable to the major of International Business and Economics to present in the internship report, named the topic of the internship report;
- Develop internship report outline;
- Carry out the actual work of the organization or company;
- Collecting necessary information and data for the internship report;
- Write a draft of the internship report;
- Ask for comments on the draft of the internship report from the instructor and from the instructor at the internship unit or people knowledgeable about the issue studied in the report;
- Finalize the internship report, approved by the instructor and the internship company/ organization.
