1. COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

The module will take students through the foundations of multinational management; revisit the theories of international trade, strategic marketing management and issues on culture, international human resources management, some aspects of leadership, and introduction to corporate social responsibility and ethics when done managing internationally. The issues addressed in this module take on a case study approach as there is no right or wrong way in managing. It is an opportunity to gauge how students approach the topic called ―business elective. Cases will be introduced in every sub-module. Students are expected to have done background research on these cases before they come to class. This can be achieved through the case studies and presentations that you have formed at the start of the semester.

    Group assignments:

    Students register to work in groups of 4 or 5 students.

    Mid-term group assessment is based on the submission of one group assignment at the end of the module. Topics may be in the form of case studies or analysis of an issue related to the content of the module

    Group assignment requirements:

    • Format: Assignment from 15-20 pages A4.
    • Content: the topic suggested by the lecturer, students can propose but must be approved by the lecturer.
    • Criteria:

    + Address research questions clearly and reasonably (2 points)

    + Logical analysis, well solving the problem, giving real examples (5 points)

    + Diverse and diversified references (1 point)

    + Clear language and citation (2 points)
