  1. COURSE OBJECTIVES

This course is built up to provide under-graduate students in different majors of business and trade. This course covers knowledge on competition, economics of competition, competition law and policy in general, and an important research subject of this course are rules of competition law within the framework of the WTO, new generation FTAs as well as relevant legal documents and guiding documents (softlaw) of international organizations to ensure that international trade is operated fairly and against trade restrictions in line with the WTO’s objectives. 

The course also provides knowledge on anti-competitive behaviours such as cartel, unilateral conducts and merger as well as unfair business practices of enterprises which can be sanctioned by competition authorities. The course also addresses issues of implementation of competition laws with reference to compliance, competition procedures and authorities.

Lecturers can choose one of the following exam formats:

1. Multiple choice - Content: Issues that have been taught and researched in the module

- Score: 10 points

- Number of questions: according to the approved exam questions

- Evaluation criteria: according to the approved score in the answers of the exam questions.

2. Essays

- Content: The issues have been taught and researched in the module. Essay questions can be theoretical or situational or both.

- Score: 10 points

- Evaluation criteria: according to the approved score according to the answers of the exam questions.

3. Individual assignments, essays, reports, projects (individually or in groups).

- Content: Theoretical or practical problem; study the judgment; situation; business consulting project...with content related to the course

- Score: 10 points

- Evaluation criteria: according to the approved score. In the case of groups, the score given to each student in the group may vary, on the basis of each student's contribution to the completion of a major assignment, essay, report, or project.

4. Oral exam

- Content: Issues that have been taught and researched in the module

- Set of questions: Use a set of questions and answers approved by the Department or Faculty.

- Score: 10 points

- Evaluation criteria: according to the approved score according to the answers of each question and answer.

5. Combination of essay and multiple choice

- Content: the issues that have been taught and researched in the module.

- Score: 10 points.

- Evaluation criteria: according to the approved score in the answers of the exam questions.

Depending on the specific conditions of each stage, the organization of the final exam can be done in the form of a centralized exam at the school or an online exam. Evaluation criteria are built according to the approved barem.
