- COURSE OBJECTIVES
This course provides a solid foundation in international business, economics and law, transportation management, and systems analysis. Specifically, this course focuses on international transport management including liner and charter shipping, air transport, multimodal transport, international trade, economics, law, and other topics. The course aims to equip participants with key skills and knowledge required to perform effectively in an international transport environment; to understand the importance of a correct transport management for international trade; to analyse the modes of transport (marine, air, road, train, and multimodal) and their characteristics; to know how to calculate the transport costs of an export or import; to analyse the factors to be considered when selecting a mode of transport and when choosing a transport company. Besides, to supplement the more traditional lecture format, students will also be challenged with team projects and group discussions related to transportation management.
