- COURSE OBJECTIVES:
This course is intended to provide students with a foundational understanding of economic theories that explain the process of government choice making, the potential policy impacts that may occur, and discuss solutions, method to build a political system that balances actions and measures to restrain the government.
One of the important tasks of the Government is to correct market failures. The market is not always in a state of "free competition", there are always negative and positive externalities that require Government intervention to ensure social welfare. Similar to individuals and households, the Government also has operating purposes in the political system. Therefore, understanding the Government's democratic decision-making process is important in effective policy making.
