- COURSE OBJECTIVES
The course is designed to help students get familiar with international trade law in general and particularly the law of the World Trade Organization (WTO). Students are equipped with knowledge to analyze the world trading system and evaluate how international law balances trade liberalization with other societal values and interests, such as the protection of public health, the environment and economic development of developing countries. The course also provides students with the knowledge and skills to analyze and evaluate agreements in various aspects of international trade. At the end of the course, students can work out the fundamental principles and underlying logic of WTO law and the world trading system.
